Farmhouse Christmas – What’s New at Stampin’ Up! Blog Hop

Welcome! I am happy that you are joining us for our hop today. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from around the world who are Hoppin’ With Exciting Ideas to share with you. Today we will be featuring products from the new Holiday Catalog, and I selected Farmhouse Christmas!

The funny thing is, I didn’t make a Christmas card! I wanted to show you that the products don’t always have to be used for the obvious reasons. I actually went for a more fall themed color scheme, and made it an “any occasion” card, using only stamps and dies from the Farmhouse Christmas Bundle.

I know I wanted to make a card like this the moment I saw this set, and I got to use the Stampin’ Blends markers to color it all in. I used a whole bunch of them, too! I’m glad there are some new colors in the Holiday Catalog, those came in handy. Two fo the new colors, Cajun Craze and Mango Melody, helped out with the windows and the roof.  Other colors used were Old Olive, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler,  Soft Suede and Bronze. I could play all day with this set and these markers!
The fantastic fence also comes with the framelits, and I cut it out of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper – instant fence texture!
(Just a note on the fence… I cut two of them and glued them together to get the whole width of the card.)

For the colorful sky, I sponged a bit of many colors together. I used Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, and Rich Razzleberry. I made sure not to press too hard, as I wanted it to be pretty light. I added some Wink of Stella to the windows for the final sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed my card today, showing you how easy it is to make non-Holiday cards from the Holiday Catalog!

Please take a moment to leave a comment to let me know how you liked my project or ask me any questions about how I created it.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Masculine Cards

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Masculine!

Today is a fun day because it’s the start of the NEW Annual Catalog!!  So, I’ve chosen a set from the new products for not one, but two cards. 🙂

The set is Rooted in Nature, and it has some coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a set of Thinlits to go with it. I used one basic layout, and changed it slightly on each with the embellishments to get two very different cards. Here is the first one:

I love this tree stamp. I used some of the new colors, Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce (stamped off once) to stamp the trees in the background. I used the Shaded Spruce full strength for the single tree, which is cut out with the coordinating Thinlit set, Nature’s Roots.

I layered the trees on Soft Sea Foam cardstock, just to give it a subtle border against the Shaded Spruce base, which is embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. To tie in the rustic forest look, I finished it with some Burlap ribbon.

The second one was a bit more neutral using Soft Suede as the base, and has some visual texture (is that a thing? it is now) with a piece of the Nature’s Poem DSP.

The giant single tree stamp is so striking, I really like it by itself! I added a little banner that I cut for the sentiment, with some wrapped up Copper Metallic Thread.

Both of these are so simple and clean, and I’m sure either one would be perfect for any occasion that calls for a masculine card!

I really hope you’ve enjoyed these, and even though time has gotten away from me recently, with the start of the new catalog I hope to have much more to show you with the new products. As soon as the date is finalized for my New Catalog Open House Card Class, I’ll get that posted up here, too!
Happy Stamping!

Celebrate You with the Eclipse Technique

I know the solar eclipse has come and gone, but this technique is still making it’s way around. This is a fun way to showcase a word in a subtle way.
It uses the Large Letters Framelits and some Dimensionals.

www.StampinMak.com

I have the Vintage Leaves stamped in Old Olive with a bit of Garden Green on some edges. The ‘Celebrate’ comes from the Beautiful You stamp set using the Fresh Fig ink.
Once it was all stamped, I used the Large Letter Framelits to cut out the Y-O-U.
I layered the background on some Fresh Fig cardstock, so the darker color would show under the letters. I then used a few Dimensionals to pop up the letters back where they came from.

www.StampinMak.com

It gives it just enough lift to see color below it, and still see the letters that were cut out.  There are so many options with this technique! You can use any combination of letters, or even some of the Numbers Framelits for a birthday celebration!

Let me know what combination you come up with,
Happy Stamping!

Global Stamping Friends Hop – Kids Cards

Hi everyone!

I found a brand new (to me) group to hop with this month! It’s the Global Stamping Friends, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share.  Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s Kids Cards!

I decided to get out a set I haven’t used in a while, but had specifically bought for my own kiddo, the cute dino set, No Bones About It. I combined old with new and added in some branches made with the Seasonal Layers thinlits. Check it out…

www.stampinmak.com

It’s actually a lot simpler to make than it looks. I used the same technique I used with my fall leaves in a previous post (click here to see that) – sponge daubers!
In this case, I used Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, and Fresh Fig! Who would have guessed those colors!  I used some Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip for the pebbles, sponging a bit over the paper once stamped. I also used the daubers on the sentiment. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the top branch is popped up with some dimensionals, so it really does give the 3D feel.

And… the party hat is party-ready with some Wink of Stella on it. How fun is that! It even got the seal of approval from my hubby. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this card that would be perfect for any kiddo’s birthday!
Thanks for looking, and please leave a comment if you can!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Holidays

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme; this month it was a choice, and I picked Christmas!!

Before I get to my projects, if you’ve come here from Lorene’s blog you already know… but, we have a special guest this month!  It’s Brian King! YAY!
A while back, I shared a picture <click here to see that post> of when I got to meet up with him at one of our Stampin’ Up Events. I didn’t want to only share the same picture again, so I dug around a bit, and found an older one! July 2014 to be exact. Brian is quite the character and I believe this was a “quick, Brian’s gonna grab the camera and do a selfie” type of picture. . LOL.

Welcome Brian!  And now…. here are a few of the projects I’ve put together for this month’s hop!

Since it’s almost the end of the Christmas craft fair season for me, I thought I’d share a few of the cute little treat holders and tags that I’ve put together:

www.stampinmak.com

These all use the adorable Cookie Cutter Christmas set with the coordinating punch. I’ve seen a lot of projects like these floating around the web, and I just had to make some myself! I bet folks will love them!

The next project is a super quick card I put together using the Merry Mice set. I found a cute card I had in my sample box from a while back (with retired items) and decided to update it with the mice, sequins, and Wink of Stella! The snowflakes come from the Tin of Tags set, and the sequins are the Fancy Frost Sequins. All of these can be found in the Holiday Catalog. 🙂

The next cards I will share are from a recent Stamp Camp I atended. I am so glad I get the opportunity to go to these, as they are a blast!
Many of these use the new copper foil sheets, I love the copper in them, it gives them such a nice shine and regal look.
This one highlights the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies with the pine cone and pines. The background uses the Cable Knit embossing folder.

The next one also uses the pine cones – along with the Merry Medley background stamp embossed in copper.:

Isn’t the copper so pretty?  Here is one that uses the Copper Foil with the Brick Wall embossing folder:

www.stampinmak.com

The holly swag is from the Holly Berry Happiness set. It has a coordinating punch for the bow and leaves! The mini pine cones are also copper and hang from the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine.

This next one is one of my favorites!  It’s using the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set with matching Thinlit die set.

www.stampinmak.com

It’s hard to see in the picture, but it’s actually put together so it looks like a picture frame! The shiny copper sleigh really makes the card pop. The sentiment is from the Wonderful Year stamp set, which is perfect for all your holiday cards!

This last project doesn’t use copper, instead it gets the sparkly-ness from the glimmer paper! Both red and gold glimmer paper here on top of an ornament from the Merriest Wishes Stamp set and Merry Tags Framelits. Add some pines with the Pine Bough embossing folder, and you’re all set.

I hope you enjoyed these projects! Many of these products are in the Holiday Catalog, which will end on January 3rd. So – if you want anything from it, don’t delay!
