Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Time to CASE

Happy Easter and Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s CASE – Copy and Share Everything!!

No fooling here, I was a bit stumped at this one! There are so many wonderful projects to choose from that this blogging group has done over the years! So, to narrow it down, I thought of a few things.
First, it’s Spring! At least, it’s supposed to be… Right now it’s still a bit chilly for my taste in my neck of the woods. So I wanted a spring-like project, flowers are always good for that! Next, I wanted it to be in some bright colors. Bright colors and flowers should fit in nicely with it being Easter, too!

So, here is the project I selected from fellow blogger, Crystal Komara:

I absolutely loved the sparkly dragonflies in her post, so I decided to CASE those!  Here is my take on her lovely projects, switching up the colors a bit:

I am so happy how they turned out! These have flowers, bright colors, and dragonflies! I used one of the soon-to-be-retired In-Colors, Flirty Flamingo, as the base color. I will be very sad when this color goes away. For now I will be happy with using it as much as I can. 🙂

For the first card, I didn’t have all the same supplies, so I did a little stamp swapping. Here I used the Beautiful Day stamp set from the Occasions Catalog. I masked part of it, and stamped it twice, coloring it in with the Aqua Painters and the Flirty Flamingo ink. The background is the Musical Sheet stamp, in Smokey Slate.

Here’s the trick on both of these cards… I did not have any Designer Series Paper in Flirty Flamingo, so I created my own. I used the card stock, stamped images in white craft ink, then heat embossed with white powder. Voila! Pretty snazzy, eh? For this one I used the Timeless Textures to get the pattern.

For the next one, I used leaves in Awesomely Artistic to make the home-made DSP, since I used it for the main flower image as well.

I hope you like both of these, and thank you to Crystal for the inspiration from her original projects!  I can’t wait to see what everyone else came up with this month!

If you would also like to see the rest of this month’s projects, then please take a few minutes to hop on through the rest of today’s blog hop!
Happy stamping!

Shiny Foil Snowflake Holiday Cards

Hi folks!  Just a few updates here today!

I’m going through the wonderful cards that were shared with me at the OnStage event last month, and I the two I have for you today both use the Foil Snowflakes and Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series Paper – which are on the retiring Holiday list!

Just a note on that list – The Year End Sale is going on right now, and you can click on my online store links, or click here, to see which items are being retired, and which ones are available at a discount! These are as supplies last, so you’ll want to scoop these up asap!

Ok, back to the fun shiny cards!  This first one is from my upline Linda Bauwin, and she used the Smitten Mittens Bundle, along with the Foil Snowflakes and Year of Cheer Specialty DSP. The mitten is cut from the Gold Glimmer paper.. so many pretty metallic colors!

This next one is from Mary Rodgers, also using the Foils Snowflakes, and Year of Cheer DSP. She also used the Snowflake Sentiments Bundle, white doilies and some gold metallic thread, finishing it off with some rhinestones. How festive!

I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!  I still have some more to share, so I will do my best to get them out here for you!

On a slightly different topic – if you missed the info on the Stamparatus the first time around, the second pre-order window is open!
There are a few changes from the first window – everyone can pre-order only one. And… the window will stay open all month! It doesn’t matter if 10 people reserve it or 1 million, they will ship in the order they reservations were received (starting in March). This will also be the last window open since they are not limiting how many people can reserve!!
Head over to my online store, login with your account – then click on the Stamparatus picture where it says “Reserve Yours Now!”
If you have any questions – just let me know!!

One last item – If you have not checked out the calendar lately, there is one more Card Class this month before the holidays! YAY!!

Make sure to let me know if you are coming so I can have enough supplies ready.
These will not be Holiday Cards, they will be other/all occasions. As a bonus, you will be able to see some of the NEW products coming up for January.

Saturday, Dec 16th at 1:00 pm
10 cards with envelopes (5 designs x 2 each)
Please bring your own adhesive.
Cost is $25, and non-refundable.
RSVP by Thursday night, Dec 14th at 9 pm.

I can’t wait to hear from everyone!
Happy Stamping!

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme; this month it is the NEW Holiday Catalog!

There are so many wonderful things to pick from! I’ve chosen just a few items to use this time, but look for lots more to come during the duration of the catalog!

This card I made uses three brand new items:

www.stampinmak.com

– The stamp set “Watercolor Christmas” for the whimsical sentiment.
– Silver Foil Snowflakes – they come with silver and gold!
– Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper with little snowflakes.

Here’s a closeup of the shiny snowflake, and a bit of shimmer from some Wink of Stella that I splattered on the black cardstock.

www.stampinmak.com

There’s a strip of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper along the side, for even more sparkle. Some metallic thread behind the words, and a few rhinestones on the centers of the snowflakes finish off the card.  I love that it can be used for any holiday. It’s neutral colors make it a great option for almost anything.

You can get any of these items by stopping by my online store here. Don’t forget to use the current host code GXQ4WSYR if your order is under $150. If you have any questions – just let me know!

Thanks for stopping by and looking, I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Retiring Items

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme; this month it is Retiring items!

WOW..There are so many retiring items each year – which makes me sad to see them go, but excited for the new products that will take their place! With so many to choose from, I’ve decided to show a few items here that are special to me.

This first one was from the Occasions catalog. It’s using the stamp set Chase Your Dreams. You may recall I used this one on a previous card with a sunset, for the sentiment. This time I’ve used the stamp that was my whole reason for buying it! The castle! 🙂

www.stampinmak.com

As soon as I saw this I knew I had to get it, well, because I’ve been there! This is Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. It truly is the fairy tale castle. So, I’ve made it a simple card, focusing on the castle itself, and added some shading with sparkle around it.

www.stampinmak.com

I am definitely sorry to see this go, but will also be making sure to make lots more cards with this set!  For this particular card, I used Smokey Slate and Cherry Cobbler, and then blender pens with the ink pads to color it in. There’s also a bit of Crushed Curry, and Soft Sky is sponged in the background.

This next one I want to share because it went with the sunset card. They both used retiring items and used the same technique to create them… A lot of sponging! It’s sometimes called the galaxy technique, and in this card, I actually made a galaxy!

www.stampinmak.com

Starting out with lots of bright colors… just start sponging. Overlap, leave gaps.. doesn’t matter. The proceed with a darker color, like Night of Navy. Fill in some of the gaps and overlap the colors. To get the stars, I’ve used one of my favorite retiring sets, Gorgeous Grunge. I’m not sure what I’ll do without it! I inked the dots in white ink, then stamped all over the card. I finished it off by flicking an Aqua Painter on it (just plain water), along with some Wink of Stella. The sentiment, very appropriate, comes from Over the Rainbow (also retiring). It’s embossed in white, then finished off with more Stella.

I hope these inspire you to get creating!
The retiring items are going fast, some are as supplies last! If you need anything off your wish list, just give me a call, or shop my online store <click here> using the current Hostess Code: 6PYCBX7J, or click the image below:

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Holidays

Blogging Friends Icon

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme; this month it was a choice, and I picked Christmas!!

Before I get to my projects, if you’ve come here from Lorene’s blog you already know… but, we have a special guest this month!  It’s Brian King! YAY!
A while back, I shared a picture <click here to see that post> of when I got to meet up with him at one of our Stampin’ Up Events. I didn’t want to only share the same picture again, so I dug around a bit, and found an older one! July 2014 to be exact. Brian is quite the character and I believe this was a “quick, Brian’s gonna grab the camera and do a selfie” type of picture. . LOL.

www.stampinmak.com

Welcome Brian!  And now…. here are a few of the projects I’ve put together for this month’s hop!

Since it’s almost the end of the Christmas craft fair season for me, I thought I’d share a few of the cute little treat holders and tags that I’ve put together:

www.stampinmak.com

These all use the adorable Cookie Cutter Christmas set with the coordinating punch. I’ve seen a lot of projects like these floating around the web, and I just had to make some myself! I bet folks will love them!

The next project is a super quick card I put together using the Merry Mice set. I found a cute card I had in my sample box from a while back (with retired items) and decided to update it with the mice, sequins, and Wink of Stella! The snowflakes come from the Tin of Tags set, and the sequins are the Fancy Frost Sequins. All of these can be found in the Holiday Catalog. 🙂

www.stampinmak.com

The next cards I will share are from a recent Stamp Camp I atended. I am so glad I get the opportunity to go to these, as they are a blast!
Many of these use the new copper foil sheets, I love the copper in them, it gives them such a nice shine and regal look.
This one highlights the Pretty Pines Thinlets Dies with the pine cone and pines. The background uses the Cable Knit embossing folder.

www.stampinmak.com

The next one also uses the pine cones – along with the Merry Medley background stamp embossed in copper.:

www.stampinmak.com

Isn’t the copper so pretty?  Here is one that uses the Copper Foil with the Brick Wall embossing folder:

www.stampinmak.com

The holly swag is from the Holly Berry Happiness set. It has a coordinating punch for the bow and leaves! The mini pine cones are also copper and hang from the Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine.

This next one is one of my favorites!  It’s using the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set with matching Thinlit die set.

www.stampinmak.com

It’s hard to see in the picture, but it’s actually put together so it looks like a picture frame! The shiny copper sleigh really makes the card pop. The sentiment is from the Wonderful Year stamp set, which is perfect for all your holiday cards!

This last project doesn’t use copper, instead it gets the sparkly-ness from the glimmer paper! Both red and gold glimmer paper here on top of an ornament from the Merriest Wishes Stamp set and Merry Tags Framelits. Add some pines with the Pine Bough embossing folder, and you’re all set.

www.stampinmak.com

I hope you enjoyed these projects! Many of these products are in the Holiday Catalog, which will end on January 3rd. So – if you want anything from it, don’t delay!
Stampin’ Up will be starting their Year End Closeout today, and you’ll want to check out the store to see all the discounts – but hurry because some items will be as only as supplies last.

You can click here to get to my online store.  🙂
