Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Cats and Fall Leaves

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme; this month it is ALL ABOUT ME!! Well, it’s actually all of us… it’s our favorites!

So, for this I have decided to pick two things I love… Cats and the Fall. 🙂

This first card is for the two kitties that call me mom, and take over my side of the bed, and walk on my face when I try to sleep… I did say I love them, right? I must, because, oh boy. Some days I wish I could shut the door so I can sleep without having them tear up the carpet because I shut them out. LOL…
So while I deal with that, here is the card I made with the Pretty Kitty set:

I think it turned out great. It’s got the kitty, some coloring with watercolor pencils, copper trim ribbon, bonus sequins, and Wink of Stella on the flowers:

I used the Stitched Framelits and a circle punch for the circles, and added some copper metallic thread behind it. You can also see the copper trim up close! The crosses are from the Oh So Eclectic set, which I’ve used before – I like that as an added background detail! The fantastic gradient paper is from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack, in Berry Burst.

This next project is one of the other things I love.. the Fall. I am not a hot weather person. I am not a cold weather person. So, I guess that’s why I love the Fall. And because of the leaves, and the colors, and the flannel… I could go on and on and on…… 🙂

I decided to make a fall-colors-themed card with lots of leaves in fall colors. I’ve used the stamps and dies from the Colorful Season set, and Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I used various colors (Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler) with some sponge daubers right onto the stamp, and got a multicolored leaf:

I did the same technique on the sentiment. I brushed some Wink of Stella on the leaves, too – so they shimmer. The outlined leaf is cut from a Copper Foil Sheet and layered on another leaf, also cut out with the dies.

(I got the inspiration for this card from a card by Jackie Bolhuis.)

I hope you like both of these projects and keep an eye out for some new posts coming soon! I’ve got another hop coming up, and we will be able to start pre-ordering from the upcoming Holiday Catalog!! Can you believe it’s right around the corner already? It will be released September 1st for everyone. I’m pretty excited about a lot of the new products in there, and hope to share them with you all!!  If you ever want to be able to get the new products in our hand before they are released – just contact me!! Being a Demonstrator definitely has it’s perks!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the hop!
