Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Christmas

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Happy December folks!  It’s the first of the month, and time for another Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s anything Christmas, Hannukah, or New Year’s!

I had such a hard time trying to figure out how to narrow it down to just one or two items, so I’ve decided to share a bunch of Christmas cards! These are just some of the many wonderful projects created at the Stamp Camp I went to a few weeks ago, held by my wonderful upline Linda Bauwin!

These first two both use the eclipse technique. Using the large letters framelits, you just pop them up on some foam strips, and it gives it a shadow.

www.stampinmak.com

This has the Night in Bethlehem bundle – using both the thinlit die for the city, and then the stamps for the people.  I like how this turned out with the letters popped up!

This next one uses the leaves in Musical Season to show off the letters.

www.stampinmak.com

It also has some of the die cut images from Pretty Pines Thinlits, using some of the fabulous Champagne foil sheets.

Speaking of the Musical Season set, here is a wonderful card using that bundle.

www.stampinmak.com

The monochromatic look is so pretty with the music and instruments. It works great with the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Foil Snowflakes… Such a shiny card!

This last one I have to share with you is also on the shiny side of the spectrum!

www.stampinmak.com

Yay for shiny foil sheets and glimmer paper! This time the DSP is the Year of Cheer – which mixes all 4 metal colors throughout it’s designs.
The little deer and the trees are from the Card Front Builder Thinlits, and the lovely Merry Christmas is from the Star of Light stamp set.

I love this group of cards, and this shows you they don’t have to have so much of the typical red & green to be festive! If you haven’t finished up your holiday cards, maybe this will inspire you. 🙂

I can’t wait to see the rest of the ideas from everyone else in today’s hop, you should check them out, too! Don’t forget to leave a note when you stop by.

After you’re done ooohing and aaaahing over the hop, hop on over to my online store to check out the Year-End SALE that Stampin’ Up! has going on. You can purchase some of the items used in these cards before they retire for good, and even get some at discounted prices!

One last item – if you are in the area this Saturday, come visit me at the Silver Bells Boutique at the Kenston High School. It’s my last craft fair of the Christmas season!

Happy stamping!
Mak

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Fall

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Happy November folks!  It’s the first of the month, and time for the Fall version of the Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

With the Fall and Thanksgiving theme, I picked a card design that covers both Fall and Thanks! When I think of Fall, I think of leaves and pumpkins, and the colors orange and yellow. Nobody said pumpkins have to only be for Halloween! Here’s what I came up with:

www.stampinmak.com

I love the rustic look with the burlap ribbon on this. It’s got two stamp sets, some Designer Series Paper, ribbon, framelits, and… I used the new Blends!

Featured Items used:  Burlap & At Home With You stamp sets; Coffee Break DSP; Gold Foil; Seasonal Layers & Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits; Stampin Blends

www.stampinmak.com

The leaves have some Wink of Stella on them, and so do the pumpkins. They all shimmer in the light.

These new alcohol markers, called Stampin’ Blends, are available starting today! Make sure to check out my online store to see them, and I’ll have more samples coming up soon.
Check out the awesome shading you can do with them here:

So many wonderful things you can do with these.  I can’t wait to see all the other Fall and Thanksgiving projects everyone else came up with!

Thanks for stopping by this time and I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!

Celebrate You with the Eclipse Technique

I know the solar eclipse has come and gone, but this technique is still making it’s way around. This is a fun way to showcase a word in a subtle way.
It uses the Large Letters Framelits and some Dimensionals.

www.StampinMak.com

I have the Vintage Leaves stamped in Old Olive with a bit of Garden Green on some edges. The ‘Celebrate’ comes from the Beautiful You stamp set using the Fresh Fig ink.
Once it was all stamped, I used the Large Letter Framelits to cut out the Y-O-U.
I layered the background on some Fresh Fig cardstock, so the darker color would show under the letters. I then used a few Dimensionals to pop up the letters back where they came from.

www.StampinMak.com

It gives it just enough lift to see color below it, and still see the letters that were cut out.  There are so many options with this technique! You can use any combination of letters, or even some of the Numbers Framelits for a birthday celebration!

Let me know what combination you come up with,
Happy Stamping!
Mak

Global Stamping Friends Hop – Halloween

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s Halloween!

For the past few years, we have had some unintentional pumpkin vines in our yard, and have had dozens of pumpkins each year. This summer we finally cleaned it all up, so sadly, I have no more pumpkins. That is why I chose pumpkins for my Halloween card!  Here is my creation:

www.stampinmak.com

I used the Hostess special stamp set, Merry Patterns, and paired it up with Season to Sparkle to get the Happy Halloween and spooky bird! That little bird fit right in perched up on top of the cute swirl!
The Designer Series Paper is the Painted Autumn, and is one of the packs on sale just for a few more days during the Buy 3 get 1 Free special.
Here’s a tip for this one – I actually cut the rectangle, then cut the pumpkins from the middle of it on the back side. You don’t see that part anyway, so no sense in wasting good pumpkins!
Some sponging on the white space, and some Burlap ribbon give it a more rustic feel.
One thing that is completely new is how I colored the words!!  Stampin’ Up is going to be releasing new alcohol markers, called Stampin’ Blends!  Right now you can only get them for a short time, and ONLY if you are a demonstrator!
If you want to join my team, you can get these in your starter kit!! Just contact me to learn more, or click here to join. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed this not-so-spooky Halloween card, as I sure did! Don’t forget to leave a comment and visit all the other wonderful stops along the hop today!

Painted Harvest for PCC261 Color Challenge

Hi folks!  What an exciting start to the month of October!  Halloween blog hops (there is another one on Friday, so don’t miss it), TWO Stampin’ Up Specials, a Stamp-a-Stack class for World Card Making Day…  and a whole bunch of cards to share in between everything going on!

For this fall themed card I have for you, I used one of the Designer Series Papers included in the Buy 3 Get 1 Free special – Painted Autumn. It’s got a lovely mix of colors, and they fit right on with the colors picked for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #261.

The colors screamed ‘fall’ to me.. and as hard as I tried to make a neon green flower, it didn’t quite turn out. 🙂  So, I made a Coral one instead!

www.stampinmak.com

I love all the elements of this one.. It’s got a strip of the DSP with Cajun Craze behind it. The flower from Painted Harvest is stamped with both the Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze. I used both Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide for the middle and the leaves.
The vellum leaves are punched with the coordinating Leaf punch (available in the bundle to save 10%), and all washed over with some Wink of Stella for the sparkle.  A little bit of the Tranquil Tide ribbon is peeking out from the bottom. I also used the same Layered Leaves embossing folder as one of my Halloween cards since it fit in nicely with the other leaves.

Such a fun card to make! Don’t forget to check out the DSP special so you can pick up some of the fun papers to make your own creations! 🙂

Happy Stamping!
Mak
