Global Stamping Friends – Drinks Galore

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s Drinks Galore!

Since I just came out of a “Christmas in July” mode, I figured I could do one more Holiday card for this, using the Half Full stamp set.

I went for a rustic look using the burlap ribbon and some warm colors.

It’s a simple yet beautiful card. I colored the images with a few Stampin’ Blends. I absolutely LOVE them, and… Surprise!! There are more coming out in the Holiday Catalog!!! Keep an eye out for those!

I also used the Stitched Seasons framelits from the Blended Seasons Bundle – which is available NOW, while supplies last, this month only!
For the background, you’d almost never know it was from the Designer Series Paper that coordinates with the octopus stamp set (Sea of Textures)!!  The paper is the Tranquil Textures DSP, and this lovely washed look is on the back of one of the bold prints. How fun is that!

I finished it off with some metallic pearls and Wink of Stella to make it sparkle.
<Edit: I actually forgot my mistletoe when I took the first pictures!! I couldn’t figure out why it looked weird… then it finally hit me.. it’s a Christmas card! Where are the mistletoe??  LOL 🙂 So, I fixed it. >

I hope you’ve enjoyed this card, and make sure to click on through to continue on with the rest of the hop, you will be heading over to Lisa Ann’s blog next, and don’t forget to leave some nice comments to let us know what you think!
Happy Stamping!

Global Stamping Friends – Home Decor

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s Home Decor!

I needed to step out of my card comfort zone for this one, but I’m glad I did! I decided to make a wall hanging picture. Actually, it could be on a table, or the wall. This first picture is the table version.

I’ve used something brand new in this, too! Stampin’ Up has a special Limited Time only bundle available for Demonstrators this month, and it will be available for customers next month. (Contact me if you want to know how to get this!)
The stamp set is Blended Seasons, and the bundle includes the Stitched Seasons Framelits. Also available will be a new set of Watercolor pencils, which I used to color the images in my frame.
Here are some of the fun new colors all blended together on the flowers and leaves:

www.StampinMak.com

I used the framelits to cut the background piece from vellum. I layered lots and lots of leaves and stems also from the framelits, in Garden Green and Granny Apple Green. For some extra shine, I used the Copper Foil paper, some Copper metallic thread, as well as some of the metallic sequins.
After I put it all together, I thought it could use just a bit more artsy-shine, so I added an additional border and layered it on top of the frame itself! I thought it looked pretty cool. Now it has to go on the wall, since I extended the frame at the bottom, heh.

If you take a closer look, you will notice the awesome wooden background is actually Designer Series Paper! I took some pieces of the Wood Textures 6×6 DSP and sliced them up into planks. I made varying widths and lengths, then put them together like flooring. I’m trying to figure out if I’m more exited about the pretty flowers or the wood floor! <squeee!> And, this pack of DSP is part of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Promotion this month!

Once I calmed down a bit, I realized Wink of Stella would work wonders on the flowers to finish it off. Super sparkles going on in this work of art.

I hope you like this project, I really did. I can’t wait to see what all the others came up with this month.

Don’t forget to RSVP to my Card Making classes, the next two are up on my calendar (one is this coming Saturday)!  You can also check out my online store for the specials this month, such as the Buy 3 Get 1 Free DSP sale, and the Free set of ink pads when you join my team! 🙂

Global Stamping Friends Hop – New Catalog

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s THE NEW CATALOG!

Whoa. There is sooo much good stuff in there, I wasn’t even sure where to begin. With the new catalog, and the timing with the first of the month… I’m back today for a second time to share another wonderful new product. 🙂

I picked the Bundle that I immediately fell in love with – for multiple reasons! One – It has a butterfly thinlit! And two…. the beautiful multi-step rose! Here’s my card:

Gorgeous right? This is the Abstract Impressions Bundle, which is the Abstract Impressions stamp set and the Springtime Impressions Thinlits.

The extra fun part is all the colors are new, too! I’ve used Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue, and Granny Apple Green. For the roses, I actually used Blueberry Bushel twice, stamping off once for the medium shade.

The Butterfly is die cut twice, once in the Blueberry Bushel, and once in the new Designer Series Paper – Tranquil Textures.  I used this paper because the subtle blue pattern was in Balmy Blue, and it matched my card perfectly.

I finished it off with some cute Polka Dot Ribbon tied in a bow, some rhinestones, and some Wink of Stella! Here’s another look at all the texture this card has:

I hope you liked this one, I know I did!

Please take some time to continue on with the rest of the hop, you will be heading over to Jan’s blog next, and don’t forget to leave some nice comments to let us know what you think!
Happy Stamping!

Global Stamping Friends – Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s a Design Sketch Challenge:

I liked how clean this was, and went through a few scenarios of what I would use. I decided to mix some outgoing products, returning products, and some new ones! Here’s what I came up with:

First, I want to point out that not all cards need a sentiment! This allows for the sender to write whatever they like on the inside! It can be a “just because I like the pretty design” kind of card!
I used the new Painted Glass stamp set for the lovely circle design. The inside has the same image stamped a few times, but stamped in Smokey Slate after stamping off on scrap paper first to make it even lighter.

I took this opportunity to use some of the new Blends Markers I received at Stampin’ Up’s OnStage event a few weeks ago. I used the new Pineapple Punch and Lovely Lipstick, then added in few additional colors I already had.

The background paper is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack – which is carrying over to the new catalog! YAY!

The decorative black design across the card comes from the Stained Glass Thinlits, the coordinating set to go with the stamp set. This will also be available as a bundle so you can save 10% when you purchase it as the bundle. 🙂

The cute little circle embellishments are the Glitter Enamel Dots, and those will be retiring soon, so get them now if you don’t have them!

I couldn’t resist adding a bit of Wink of Stella to make it sparkle:

I hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. I think I will need to make a few more of these to use up the rest of my Glitter Enamel Dots since they went so well with this design.

Please take some time to continue on with the rest of the hop, you will be heading over to Sarah’s blog next, and don’t forget to leave some nice comments to let us know what you think!
Happy Stamping!

Global Stamping Friends – Exciting Times

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This month we have an extra special mid-month edition to share from folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. This month it’s an Exciting Time as we have a NEW Catalog right around the corner! So, we will be showing some previews of items in the New Catalog!!

Every year there are 5 brand new In Colors from Stampin’ Up! I’ve decided to highlight ALL 5 of them in my card today. I used some sponging, and went to town on some Whisper White card stock. Check out the background:

The 5 new In Colors are Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel. You can see how they fit into the new color Revamp by clicking here.

The brand new stamp set I used is called Enjoy Life, and it’s inspired by one of the Million Sales Achievers, Connie Fitzgerald. It’s such a great set, and I loved the borderline snarkiness of the sentiment I used for this. I used the two coordinating Scallop Circle punches for that. Behind the sentiment is some of the new Black Cording that I unraveled.
For some added sparkle, I added some rhinestones that I colored with the coordinating new Blends markers – Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch. I also used Pumpkin Pie to match the Grapefruit Grove color sky.

I think this is such a fun, bright and wonderful card that anyone would love!

I can’t wait to share more of the new catalog with you, so keep coming back. 🙂

Now, I hope you have fun hopping around the rest of today’s blog hop!
