Blogging Friends Blog Hop – New 2018 Annual Catalog

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s The New 2018 Annual Catalog!

Let me start by saying, WOW!  You must see the new catalog. 🙂
If you do not already have a Demonstrator, and you need a catalog – LET ME KNOW! I can get one in your hands!

Ok, got that out of the way… Now let’s focus on what I picked for you this month… It’s the start of Summer… kids are out of school… fun is being had… and before you know it, POOF! School will start back up! I know, I know! I am NOT rushing Summer! I’m just saying it’s never too early to be prepared.
So, I’ve decided to use one of the new stamp sets I specifically got for the purpose of giving back to teachers! It’s the “Picked For You” stamp set (see what I did there, heh).  Here’s a cute treat holder that can be used for any occasion.

It’s a multi-step stamp, so you can make awesome looking apples of any color. You can even see 3 different examples right in the catalog, page 171!
I’ve used one of the New In-Colors, Lovely Lipstick. In fact, I’ve used the ink, 6 x 6 In-Color Designer Series Paper, and the new embossing powder all in that color!  Just for good measure, I added some of the new Red Rhinestones to give it some more pizzazz. Here is a close up of the embossing powder and Wink of Stella on the apple shimmering away:

I used the Layering Circles and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to frame the apple. Silver Foil and Vellum are layered under the apple that I cut out by hand. I also used the returning Petals & More thinlits to cut out the sentiment.
This stamp set has lots of great sentiments to choose from, including “For a Special Teacher” which will be perfect when school starts back up.

You could fill this with anything from chocolate to sticky notes! Once it’s all filled up, you can tie it closed using some of the Silver Metallic Edge and Silver Baker’s Twine. That cute little hole for the ribbon was easy to make, too. I used the new Detailed Trio punch. Punch, and done.  Here’s the side view to see how it’s perfect for goodies:

The box itself was not too complicated either. I have seen several variations of this style, as folks are kind to share their creations. For this one in particular, I got the inspiration from Angie Juda’s treat box here.  I must admit though, I didn’t actually watch the video, I just saw the box and thought, I want to do something like that! 🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s creation and would love to hear what you think about it!  Don’t forget to hop around to the other folks in today’s blog hop, we’d love to have you visit!

Reminder: Don’t forget to take a peek at the calendar event dates, as I have the July Card Making Classes scheduled! You could come see some of the new products in person while we use them for class!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Masculine Cards

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Masculine!

Today is a fun day because it’s the start of the NEW Annual Catalog!!  So, I’ve chosen a set from the new products for not one, but two cards. 🙂

The set is Rooted in Nature, and it has some coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a set of Thinlits to go with it. I used one basic layout, and changed it slightly on each with the embellishments to get two very different cards. Here is the first one:

I love this tree stamp. I used some of the new colors, Soft Sea Foam and Shaded Spruce (stamped off once) to stamp the trees in the background. I used the Shaded Spruce full strength for the single tree, which is cut out with the coordinating Thinlit set, Nature’s Roots.

I layered the trees on Soft Sea Foam cardstock, just to give it a subtle border against the Shaded Spruce base, which is embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder. To tie in the rustic forest look, I finished it with some Burlap ribbon.

The second one was a bit more neutral using Soft Suede as the base, and has some visual texture (is that a thing? it is now) with a piece of the Nature’s Poem DSP.

The giant single tree stamp is so striking, I really like it by itself! I added a little banner that I cut for the sentiment, with some wrapped up Copper Metallic Thread.

Both of these are so simple and clean, and I’m sure either one would be perfect for any occasion that calls for a masculine card!

I really hope you’ve enjoyed these, and even though time has gotten away from me recently, with the start of the new catalog I hope to have much more to show you with the new products. As soon as the date is finalized for my New Catalog Open House Card Class, I’ll get that posted up here, too!
Happy Stamping!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Fun Folds

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Fun Folds!

I’ve decided to dig into some of my retiring products and mix the old with the new. The new fold I used is something I’ve only seen recently, called the Impossible Card. As far as I can tell, it’s not all that impossible – in fact it’s quite manageable!

I took a couple pictures so you can get views from a few sides. Here’s my Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant Butterfly card:

www.StampinMak.com

I used Watercolor Wings for the butterfly, and the Bold Butterfly Framelits. The sentiment came from the Rose Wonder stamp set. The black and white leaf paper is the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.
There is vellum for the cutout butterfly, as well as the leaves that came from the Petals & More thinlits (the Petals & More thinlits will be in the new catalog).

Along with the shades of purple, I’ve added some Night of Navy ink to finish off the butterfly. I’ve added Wink of Stella on both butterflies, and some rhinestones to give it some additional sparkle.

The best part about this stand-up card, is that it still folds flat! Here’s a picture from the top:

Pretty nifty, huh? You can just fold that flap down, and it fits in a standard size envelope just like the regular cards.
It’s such a happy card, and I love how it turned out. If you have given this fold a try, let me know, I’d love to see your take on it!

Don’t forget to check out my calendar, I have classes lined up for the rest of the month! The next one will showcase some of the retiring products, and RSVP is due in a few days!

Happy Stamping!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Time to CASE

Happy Easter and Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

This month it’s CASE – Copy and Share Everything!!

No fooling here, I was a bit stumped at this one! There are so many wonderful projects to choose from that this blogging group has done over the years! So, to narrow it down, I thought of a few things.
First, it’s Spring! At least, it’s supposed to be… Right now it’s still a bit chilly for my taste in my neck of the woods. So I wanted a spring-like project, flowers are always good for that! Next, I wanted it to be in some bright colors. Bright colors and flowers should fit in nicely with it being Easter, too!

So, here is the project I selected from fellow blogger, Crystal Komara:

I absolutely loved the sparkly dragonflies in her post, so I decided to CASE those!  Here is my take on her lovely projects, switching up the colors a bit:

I am so happy how they turned out! These have flowers, bright colors, and dragonflies! I used one of the soon-to-be-retired In-Colors, Flirty Flamingo, as the base color. I will be very sad when this color goes away. For now I will be happy with using it as much as I can. 🙂

For the first card, I didn’t have all the same supplies, so I did a little stamp swapping. Here I used the Beautiful Day stamp set from the Occasions Catalog. I masked part of it, and stamped it twice, coloring it in with the Aqua Painters and the Flirty Flamingo ink. The background is the Musical Sheet stamp, in Smokey Slate.

Here’s the trick on both of these cards… I did not have any Designer Series Paper in Flirty Flamingo, so I created my own. I used the card stock, stamped images in white craft ink, then heat embossed with white powder. Voila! Pretty snazzy, eh? For this one I used the Timeless Textures to get the pattern.

For the next one, I used leaves in Awesomely Artistic to make the home-made DSP, since I used it for the main flower image as well.

I hope you like both of these, and thank you to Crystal for the inspiration from her original projects!  I can’t wait to see what everyone else came up with this month!

If you would also like to see the rest of this month’s projects, then please take a few minutes to hop on through the rest of today’s blog hop!
Happy stamping!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Sale-a-Bration

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Sale-A-Bration!

If you are unfamiliar with Sale-A-Bration, it’s the time of year to earn FREE products and get great deals! You can click here to read more about all the fantastic details of what you can get. But, it only lasts though the end of March, so don’t wait too long!

This year, there was a second release of NEW Sale-A-Bration products, so I used the new Blossoming Basket Bundle, which has both the Basket Weave embossing folder and Blossoming Basket stamp set! You can earn this bundle for FREE with a qualifying order.

I used Calypso Coral as the border, with Crumb Cake for the base. I used the Basket Weave embossing folder with ink on it to get the color in the creases. It gives it so much more depth that way.

The sentiment also comes from a Sale-A-Bration set, Heartfelt Blooms. I added a few extra leaves behind it using the Eclectic Layers thinlits.

I used Memento ink to stamp the lovely basket, so I could color it in with the Blends markers. I used several colors, to get various mixtures and shading. I love how the flowers AND the basket turned out! I added Wink of Stella to make it shine:

It’s hard to photograph sparklie flowers, so here’s another shot:

I love how this one turned out! If you want to earn this bundle and make this too, just contact me or place your order on my online store.

If you’d love to see even more lovely projects with Sale-A-Bration in mind, then please take a few minutes to hop on through the rest of today’s blog hop!
Happy stamping!
