Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st Friday of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Love!

The project I have for you today is made with some of the brand new products available in the new Occasions Catalog. There are several beautiful sets and bundles to select from if you’d like to make some Valentine or other Love-themed projects.
Here I’ve used the All My Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Be Mine Stitched Framelits. The framelits have a variety of heart shapes. I layered a few together to get the outline stitched heart, and the inside solid heart shape.

Another coordinating item from the All My Love Suite is the Lovely Lipstick ribbon with stitched edges. It brings such a pretty pop of color that is tied into the DSP in the card.
The sentiment is from another new set, Well Said. It fits perfectly in the Classic Label punch. I also used the leaf punch with vellum and the Lovely Floral embossing folder to finish it off.
These were not typically colors I would have put together on my own, but having both Lovely Lipstick and Soft Sea Foam in the DSP made it easy to see they worked great together. I hope you find time to put some lovely colors together yourself!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Ring in the New Year

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st Friday of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Ring in the New Year!

I was pretty excited about this one because I wanted to create something using a technique we were reminded about at the most recent Stampin’ Up! OnStage event – Simple Stamping!!
It sounds silly, but it really was hard to do! Imagine getting back to the roots of stamping: Stamp, paper, ink. Sounds simple right? Well, I guess I need more practice since I decided to use my Big Shot. 🙂 And, I love how it turned out!

Here I mixed up a bit of the Annual Catalog product with some of the Holiday Catalog items. Check out the result:

I started with the Silver Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes, then layered Basic Black and Whisper White Cardstock to get a simple easy layered card with some shine to it. I die cut the “Happy” from the Merry Christmas Thinlits in Silver Foil and Black cardstock. Both the thinlits and the Silver Foil-Edge cards are in the Holiday Catalog – so they will be gone soon (click here to get them now while you still can).

From the Annual Catalog, I used the Lined Alphabet stamps with Memento ink. I overlapped the letters and colored them in with various colors of the Stampin’ Blends. I outlined them in Light Pool Party to make it look like a shadow. I colored some Wink of Stella all over the letters so they all sparkle with the rhinestones added.

I hope you liked my take on Ringing in the New Year with some *almost* simple stamping!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Christmas

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Christmas or Hanukkah!

I have two Christmas cards for you today, both showcasing some spectacular papers available in our Holiday Catalog.

The first is a whimsical design using the Dashing Deer Bundle.

The fun leaping deer is one of the four deer shaped thinlits. I used a sponge dauber and covered it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to give it some sparkle. The lovely plaid paper is from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper pack. The stitched circle is on vellum so you can still see the DSP through it. Lining the DSP and the sentiment are two new colors of glimmer paper in the Joyous Noel 6″x6″ Glimmer Paper stack – Merry Merlot and Tranquil Tide. It just makes the whole card sparkle and shine. Topping it off are some of the Clear Epoxy Droplets.
I love how this turned out and it is such an easy layout to use!

The next card is also a simple to use layout – featuring one of the wonderful and shiny DSP designs. I used the Joyous Noel Specialty DSP which has fabulous shiny foil accents for the background.

I layered some Copper Foil paper, vellum, and a circle of the Joyous Noel DSP with the coordinating Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon. This is all under one of the great banner framelits from the Farmhouse Christmas Bundle. The copper embossed sentiment fits perfectly in the framelit.

I hope you enjoyed these two cards and they inspire you to make something sparklie for the season.

Reminder: If you are looking to make some Christmas cards for the season, I still have one more class lined up in my Christmas Card Class Series – scheduled for Saturday, Nov 17th. Be sure to RSVP so I can make sure I have room for you!

Enjoy the rest of today’s hop, and don’t forget to leave a comment to let us know what you think!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Fall Inspirational Photo

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

This month it’s an Inspiration Photo!

Isn’t that just a gorgeous scene? It’s September 1st, and even though it’s still summer, some of us can’t wait til it’s Autumn! I’m not even ashamed to say I’ve had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the season. Ok, maybe a little, but it was still good!

So, I looked at this picture and immediately focused on the sunflowers, just to make sure I wasn’t jumping too far into Fall just yet. Here is the card I made from that inspiration:

I mixed a little of the old and new for this one – giving you some more sneak peeks at products available starting on Sept 5th in the Holiday Catalog.

For starters, let’s not forget about the Annual Catalog – which is where these lovely flowers came from, Painted Harvest. I layered Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie for the petals, and Soft Suede with Granny Apple Green for the centers. I think it came out pretty close to the inspiration photo!
For the background, I used the Subtle embossing folder, which is true to the name. To make it stand out a bit more, I ran a sponge with the Crushed Curry ink across the edges.

You can see it a bit better that way. You can also see a few of the new items, like the copper glimmer paper – which is part of a 6×6 inch multi pack called Joyous Noel, and includes Merry Merlot and Tranquil Tide with it. I also used the new Sprig Punch, available in the same suite as the Glimmer paper.
The sentiment is heat embossed with Copper, and I used one other new item to die cut the vellum. That piece came from the Farmhouse Framelits dies, and you can look for more samples made with the Festive Farmhouse Suite of products in the next week!

I hope you have enjoyed diving into Fall for a few moments for this month’s hop. Continue on by clicking below!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Time to Recycle

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

This month it’s Recycle!

For this one, I decided to go through my stacks of “cut up and ready to turn into a card” supplies. Have you ever prepared for lots of cards, but then only make a few? Well, I’ve done that several times, and I don’t always get back to them. Here’s just a few ready-to-be-made paper stacks, but I don’t even remember what the cards were! That’s how long ago these are from. Some are even retired colors!

So, I dug through and looked for some in current colors, and pulled those out to make into a card! I know this one originally used a tree, but I’m sure it had retired stamps and supplies on it. Here is my take on it using current and NEW products!

I used the Sheltering Tree, and the Limited Time Stamp set called Blended Seasons. I love how it turned out.  It’s got Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, and then some new colors, Mango Melody and Grapefruit Grove. The ribbon is the Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain to match. I finished it with some of the Iridescent Sequins on the tree, which go nicely with the colors on the tree. Such a simple and sweet card for any occasion.

You can order the Blended Seasons stamp set, or the bundle with the coordinating Framelits, this month only! Contact me if you have any questions on it! This is definitely a set you can use all year long.

I hope you enjoyed this recycled idea of a card, and can’t wait to see the other projects shared! Keep going on the hop to see the rest!
