Blogging Friends Blog Hop – April Showers

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st Friday of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s April Showers!

When I hear of April Showers, I think of Springtime and a poem with May flowers.  I’m not in any rush to get too far into spring, but I did want to stick with flowers! So my card is going to call Spring our friend, and after the cold weather we’ve had here in Ohio for a while… we will be happy to see it come soon!

I’ve used one of our new Sale-A-Bration Bundles that comes with both Designer Series Paper and the coordinating stamp set, called Painted Seasons. Here is the card I made:

I love the brightness of the paper, and it has plenty of flowers! I stamped one of the flowers and a few extra leaves, then cut them out using the new coordinating Four Seasons Thinlits.

I covered all the Poppy Parade colored flowers with Wink of Stella for some extra shimmer.

The Stitched Rectangle Framelits worked great as a frame for the sentiment. That came from the Well Said stamp set, and the Friend thinlit from the Well Written Framelits – which are in a bundle together!

Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Case the Designer

Welcome to this month’s Blogging Friends Blog Hop!

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st Friday of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Case the Designer with Sale-A-Bration!

Here is the lovely project from Laura Borchert that we are CASE-ing today. If you are unfamiliar with “CASE”, it’s short for Copy and Share Everything.

The project I have for you today is based on Laura’s layout. I was able to use new products from both the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration selections.

The stamp set I used is Tea Together. It has a matching Tea Time framelit set available as a Sale-A-Bration item. They go great together!
I was so happy to not have to fussy cut around all the little flowers – there is a die for them! And, of course, for the tea cup, as well as a tea kettle, some more flowers, and some leaves!  It’s a great tool to have.
For the rest of the card, I used the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the fun background, the Flirty Flamingo ribbon from the All My Love ribbon combo pack, a circle punched from vellum, and a bit of Wink of Stella to make the flowers sparkle.
The flowers and the tea cup were all colored on Whisper White cardstock with Stampin Blends – including two new colors – Mossy Meadow and Balmy Blue. Mango Melody and Flirty Flamingo round out the markers to match the ribbon. These colors go lovely together, and really pop against the Very Vanilla background.

Here’s a close up of the sparkle on the tea cup. You can see the ribbon has a bit of natural sparkle to it as well.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and I would love to see your take on CASE-ing my card!

Bright Colors on a Birthday for PPA251

Hi there!!  I have a quick post for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge PPA251, since I love the bright vibrant color scheme!

ppa251

This even *looks* like it should be fun to use these colors.. and it was!  Here is my simple take on this combo:

As you can see, it doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult!  I used Big News stamp for the sentiment, and Balloon Bash from the Occasions Catalog for the balloons which I cut out. The Daffodil Delight striped DSP is from the Occasions Catalog, called Painted Blooms.  If you want the Occasions Catalog items, act fast, they go away soon!
I finished off the balloons with some Early Espresso Baker’s Twine (also retiring). One giant rhinestone, and this one’s done!  Super quick and simple, yet so colorful!!

New In-colors for PCCCS143

Howdy!

Today’s card features some of the new products and new In-Colors from the new Catalog going live in just a few short weeks! Did I mention they were NEW? 🙂

I used the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch – PCCCS143 here:

PCCCS143

I wanted something bright this time, and fun, and the new In-colors fit right in! Here’s my take on it:

Lots of bright summery fun colors in this one!  The background is Watermelon Wonder (NEW), with a layer of the new Cherry on Top DSP stack and stripes from the Birthday Bash DSP (in the Occasions Catalog).
The fun polka dots across the middle are from the Cherry on Top Washi tape, stuck on white card stock first – so the colors below don’t show through at all.
The sun rays are from Kinda Eclectic, and the sentiment is from the New ‘Ronald McDonald House Charities’ set Sprinkles of Life.
I used the Boho Punch for the flowers and added rhinestones on those as well as the Scalloped Circle punch behind the Crushed Curry sun.

This one definitely screamed fun to me!!  I hope you like it, and if you do… you won’t want to miss my class coming up at the end of the month where you can check out some of the new products for yourself!  Details for that will be posted soon.

Thanks for looking!

Wisteria Wonder Butterflies

Today’s card is my take on a monochromatic style. I used the sketch from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge #141 for the layout, and immediately thought I had an amazing idea for this. Well, it turns out my original not-so amazing idea didn’t work (that happens occasionally), so I came up with something else.. using one of my favorites, the butterflies!

Side Note:  My not so amazing idea was to color and stamp individual portions of a multi-image stamp with a black marker, then color them in on the paper with other markers… well, the black marker mixed with a yellow marker did not come out yellow. More like a dirty yucky blah yellow-ish color. So, that got scrapped!

Here’s the sketch for this week:

PCCCS141

Here’s my rotated take on this design:

I decided to use Wisteria Wonder for this, because I knew I wanted to make silver butterflies… but not completely silver… so, the Wisteria Wonder card stock and the silver ink really worked out nicely together. I stamped the butterflies from the Butterfly Basics set using silver and used the coordinating framelit (this bundle is on sale btw!) to cut them out. I embossed them with clear embossing powder, then sponged some Elegant Eggplant over them to make them a little darker.

I wanted something subtle in the background, so I used the Hexagon Hive thinlit in the same color as the base. I added vellum to the side and that made the rhinestones pop out a little more. A few strips of the 1/8″ Silver ribbon line the vellum edge behind the butterflies.

The sentiment is from Lovely Amazing You, one of the newer photopolymer stamps. It’s stamped in Elegant Eggplant and then cut out by hand.

I hope you like it!
