Blogging Friends Blog Hop – New 2018 Annual Catalog

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s The New 2018 Annual Catalog!

Let me start by saying, WOW!  You must see the new catalog. 🙂
If you do not already have a Demonstrator, and you need a catalog – LET ME KNOW! I can get one in your hands!

Ok, got that out of the way… Now let’s focus on what I picked for you this month… It’s the start of Summer… kids are out of school… fun is being had… and before you know it, POOF! School will start back up! I know, I know! I am NOT rushing Summer! I’m just saying it’s never too early to be prepared.
So, I’ve decided to use one of the new stamp sets I specifically got for the purpose of giving back to teachers! It’s the “Picked For You” stamp set (see what I did there, heh).  Here’s a cute treat holder that can be used for any occasion.

It’s a multi-step stamp, so you can make awesome looking apples of any color. You can even see 3 different examples right in the catalog, page 171!
I’ve used one of the New In-Colors, Lovely Lipstick. In fact, I’ve used the ink, 6 x 6 In-Color Designer Series Paper, and the new embossing powder all in that color!  Just for good measure, I added some of the new Red Rhinestones to give it some more pizzazz. Here is a close up of the embossing powder and Wink of Stella on the apple shimmering away:

I used the Layering Circles and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to frame the apple. Silver Foil and Vellum are layered under the apple that I cut out by hand. I also used the returning Petals & More thinlits to cut out the sentiment.
This stamp set has lots of great sentiments to choose from, including “For a Special Teacher” which will be perfect when school starts back up.

You could fill this with anything from chocolate to sticky notes! Once it’s all filled up, you can tie it closed using some of the Silver Metallic Edge and Silver Baker’s Twine. That cute little hole for the ribbon was easy to make, too. I used the new Detailed Trio punch. Punch, and done.  Here’s the side view to see how it’s perfect for goodies:

The box itself was not too complicated either. I have seen several variations of this style, as folks are kind to share their creations. For this one in particular, I got the inspiration from Angie Juda’s treat box here.  I must admit though, I didn’t actually watch the video, I just saw the box and thought, I want to do something like that! 🙂
