Global Stamping Friends – Home Decor

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s Home Decor!

I needed to step out of my card comfort zone for this one, but I’m glad I did! I decided to make a wall hanging picture. Actually, it could be on a table, or the wall. This first picture is the table version.

I’ve used something brand new in this, too! Stampin’ Up has a special Limited Time only bundle available for Demonstrators this month, and it will be available for customers next month. (Contact me if you want to know how to get this!)
The stamp set is Blended Seasons, and the bundle includes the Stitched Seasons Framelits. Also available will be a new set of Watercolor pencils, which I used to color the images in my frame.
Here are some of the fun new colors all blended together on the flowers and leaves:

I used the framelits to cut the background piece from vellum. I layered lots and lots of leaves and stems also from the framelits, in Garden Green and Granny Apple Green. For some extra shine, I used the Copper Foil paper, some Copper metallic thread, as well as some of the metallic sequins.
After I put it all together, I thought it could use just a bit more artsy-shine, so I added an additional border and layered it on top of the frame itself! I thought it looked pretty cool. Now it has to go on the wall, since I extended the frame at the bottom, heh.

If you take a closer look, you will notice the awesome wooden background is actually Designer Series Paper! I took some pieces of the Wood Textures 6×6 DSP and sliced them up into planks. I made varying widths and lengths, then put them together like flooring. I’m trying to figure out if I’m more exited about the pretty flowers or the wood floor! <squeee!> And, this pack of DSP is part of the Buy 3 Get 1 Free Promotion this month!

Once I calmed down a bit, I realized Wink of Stella would work wonders on the flowers to finish it off. Super sparkles going on in this work of art.

I hope you like this project, I really did. I can’t wait to see what all the others came up with this month.

Don’t forget to RSVP to my Card Making classes, the next two are up on my calendar (one is this coming Saturday)!  You can also check out my online store for the specials this month, such as the Buy 3 Get 1 Free DSP sale, and the Free set of ink pads when you join my team! 🙂

Please take some time to continue on with the rest of the hop, you will be heading over to Kimberley’s blog next, and don’t forget to leave some nice comments to let us know what you think!
Happy Stamping!
