Blogging Friends Blog Hop – Fun Folds

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme! This month it’s Fun Folds!

I’ve decided to dig into some of my retiring products and mix the old with the new. The new fold I used is something I’ve only seen recently, called the Impossible Card. As far as I can tell, it’s not all that impossible – in fact it’s quite manageable!

I took a couple pictures so you can get views from a few sides. Here’s my Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant Butterfly card:

I used Watercolor Wings for the butterfly, and the Bold Butterfly Framelits. The sentiment came from the Rose Wonder stamp set. The black and white leaf paper is the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper.
There is vellum for the cutout butterfly, as well as the leaves that came from the Petals & More thinlits (the Petals & More thinlits will be in the new catalog).

Along with the shades of purple, I’ve added some Night of Navy ink to finish off the butterfly. I’ve added Wink of Stella on both butterflies, and some rhinestones to give it some additional sparkle.

The best part about this stand-up card, is that it still folds flat! Here’s a picture from the top:

Pretty nifty, huh? You can just fold that flap down, and it fits in a standard size envelope just like the regular cards.
It’s such a happy card, and I love how it turned out. If you have given this fold a try, let me know, I’d love to see your take on it!

Don’t forget to check out my calendar, I have classes lined up for the rest of the month! The next one will showcase some of the retiring products, and RSVP is due in a few days!

Happy Stamping!
Mak

  3. OMG, so far every member on the hop I visited was creating this card! How funny! Apparently I’ve missed out on the hot new “it” card to make! I think the thing I often forget about these “fun fold” cards is how easy they actually are to do! Happy Spring! Crystal
