The World for You – PCCCS142

Hi folks!

I almost forgot about this one with all the events we had going on over the last few days! A little family stuff, a little school stuff, a little stamping stuff… a little bit of everything!  Good thing we had nice weather to deal with it all. 🙂
YAY for Spring, finally.

So, here’s the challenge I have for you this week from over on the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenges – PCCCS142:

PCCCS142

I rarely make square cards, so that itself was a little out the box for me.  But, I love a challenge and stuck with it!  Here’s the card I came up with:

I really like how this one turned out, a lot. It can be used for so many things. It’s not girly, not specifically masculine, not glittery, but just enough glitz with the pearls… We’ll call it a neutral card – ready for anything!

I was shocked to realize I had actually used so many different stamps to make this, and on such a small card! LOL
The globe and compass come from The Open Sea. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners. The background is the World Map, and there are bonus splotches from Gorgeous Grunge on the background as well.  If you like the sentiment as much as I do (it has coordinating framelits), then make sure to order it quickly, as it’s retiring in a few weeks!

I used Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Vellum and Whisper White card stocks. To get rid of the stark white against the Sahara Sand, I used some sponge daubers and mushed some color on the paper once I stamped it. The globe is in Black, and the compass is in Night of Navy. The colors used for the sponging were the Sahara Sand, Old Olive and Pacific Point (to make the blue a touch brighter). Remember to go easy on that though, not too hard or you’ll get too much color. I just wanted it subtle here. I also went around the card base with Sahara Sand, it softened up the edges a bit, which I liked.

For the sentiment, I used Night of Navy ink on vellum, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. It’s an easy way to get a little shine added.

In case you are not familiar with the little arrows… surprise! I used the “What’s Up” punch, and only used a portion of the arrow. I know, sneaky!  Some dimensionals to pop everything up, some pearls for accents, and you have yourself a cute little card.

I hope you like it!
Mak
