Global Stamping Friends Hop – Anniversary

Hi there!!

This is a special hop this month to celebrate the Anniversary of the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop!  I was a little late to the game – just joining this group recently, but I am so glad I get to share in the fun with everyone!

Since it was an anniversary celebration, I decided to make… that’s right, an Anniversary Card. 🙂  However, I had one of my new Halloween-ish sets stuck in my head, so I used it for the card!  It’s a new bundle in the Holiday catalog available in just a few weeks… Season to Sparkle, with the coordinating Chandelier Thinlit Dies. It’s not technically a Halloween set – but it has Halloween elements, as well as Christmas, and can even be used for Valentine’s Day!

I wanted to keep it simple, so the chandelier could be the main focus, so this is what I came up with:

I love this thinlit! I can’t wait to make more with it. It has a bunch of nifty accessories to go with it, too.. Lots of dangling beads, ornaments, gems, a bow, even a crow (at least, I assume it’s a crow).
For the background I used the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper, in the Lemon Lime Twist color. I thought it looked like wallpaper, so it would be a great background to the chandelier. I added a layer of vellum on top to soften the brightness a bit. I also used some black metallic thread twisted up to look like it was holding it up to the ceiling.
Rhinestones and Wink of Stella are on the lights. It’s definitely pretty sparklie. To finish it off, I used the stamp set Banners for You with coordinating Bunch of Banners framelit for the verse. Some silver metallic thread and the mini sequin trim is peeking out from behind it.

You can see how easy it is to mix and match occasions with different sets! Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
On to the rest of the hop – I’m excited to see the other projects everyone made, and I hope you are, too.
