Hi everyone!
It’s time for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop, and it really is global!! This hops around every month on the first Friday. There are folks all around the world joining this, so please take a look at all the fun stuff people have to share. Each month is a different theme, and this month it’s a color theme:
I’m so happy because Lemon Lime Twist is one of my favorite colors right now!
And, because I wanted to show you that you don’t have to come up with something *brand new* every time you want to sit down to craft, I’ve actually taken the basket card that I posted yesterday (click here to see that one), and changed it up to use these colors! Crafting can be easy!
Here is my ‘new’ take on an ‘old’ design:
I’ve kept all the same elements, and added a few more along with changing to the new colors. Since we don’t have Blends markers in Island Indigo or Lemon Lime Twist, I used the ink pads to water color with Blender Pens. Just squeeze the pad while it’s closed to get a little ink on the lid, and start painting!
I wanted to add a few more bonus leaves, so I used both the Magical Mates and the Eclectic Layers thinlits to get two varieties. I sponged a bit of color on them, too. The sentiment used here comes with the Blossoming Basket stamp set, and behind it is a little piece of the Lemon Lime Twist 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon.
For the watercoloring, I mixed the green and blue to get varying shades for the flowers. I really like how they turned out. I added a few rhinestones, and I even kept the sparkle with some Wink of Stella:
For the basket, I made sure not to color the entire area so you could still see the patterns. Early Espresso can be a pretty dark color if you use too much of it. I added some of the ink to the Basket Weave embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot. It gives it a bit more depth.
I hope you enjoyed this version on my card. Remember during Sale-A-Bration you can earn this stamp set and embossing folder bundle for FREE. 🙂
Contact me if you have any questions on that!
Now, have fun hopping around the rest of today’s blog hop!
