Blogging Friends Blog Hop – The Color Yellow

Welcome to this month’s “Blogging Friends Blog Hop!”

Who are the ‘Blogging Friends’? We are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all across the U.S. and Canada. Most of us haven’t met in person, but love Stampin’ Up and want to share with you! Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created!  Each month we’ll have a different theme; this month it is the color YELLOW!

I’m generally not a specific fan of yellow, but I kept thinking what a pretty spring color it can be!  So, today I have 3 cards for you using various shades of yellow, with a few supporting colors to go with them.

I even got to dig into a few stamp sets I haven’t used in a while! Here are the details on the individual cards…

Up first….. A card for any occasion.

This is using the Beautiful You set from the Occasions Catalog, along with some Designer Series Paper in Delightful Dijon. The Stitched framelits and the coordinating Oval framelits fit together perfectly to give a nice border.
I added some rhinestones and Wink of Stella for some sparkle:

I immediately thought I needed to make some flowers, so I dug out my Flower Patch set! I haven’t used that in months!! But – it’s springtime, so hopefully more and more flowers will be used soon.

I used lots of yellows for this one. Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, and Crushed Curry all make up the flowers. I added a bit of Peekaboo Peach on the tips and centers of a few to give it a bit more depth. Early Espresso rounds out the inks with the Banners for You stamp set and coordinating Framelit. I wrapped up some gold metallic thread behind the banner and added some rhinestones to the flowers. The background was just a bit of sponging and some dots from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

The last one I have for you today is now one of my favorites.

It’s using the Hexagons embossing folder from the Occasions folder, and is so nifty in person. It’s one of the extra deep folders, so the design is very well defined. I used Crushed Curry for this one. The sentiment is from the Host set – Time of Year. I stamped it with Memento on vellum, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. The cute little bees are actually from one of my favorite sets from the Occasions Catalog – Dragonfly Dreams, with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. I stamped it, then wanted to cut out the bee – but I chose not to put bonus paper behind it when I was done, so you can see through the bee. oops. 🙂
I did, however, remember to get the wings all shiny with Wink of Stella:

This was pretty cool to get a set of cards in one shade of color.. maybe in the future I’ll do this again with other colors… who knows, anything is possible!

I hope you liked these projects, and make sure to check out all the other wonderful projects from the other Blog Hop members!! No joke!
