BYOP Gift Card Holder for PPA246

Happy Easter everyone!    Just a quick post before you continue on your day with celebrations. Today I have for you a nifty little gift card holder made from one of the Stampin’ Up! thinlits. This is such an easy way to dress up those gift cards when you don’t know how to give them to someone.

I was inspired by this week’s Pals Paper Arts PPA246 Color Challenge:

As you can see these are fun Spring-time colors.  These would be great for anyone… boy, girl, kid, adult, cat… ya know, all of them. 🙂

I took a few pictures with this one, since there is an outside, inside, and ‘together’ view that you should see, as well as a close up of the bling.  Here’s the outside and put together view:

I love adding little somethings to make it shine or sparkle, and this time I did both. I used some Rhinestones and Crystal Effects to give it that something extra.
Here’s a tip…. make sure the Crystal Effects letters are dry before accidentally putting your hand over the front. It doesn’t have quite the same bling quality when it’s smeared all over your fingers.

The BYOP stamp set is great for gift cards, it has many different sayings and something for just about every occasion of money giving.
You can see here I’ve made a ‘belly-band’ with it using the card stock and some Chevron ribbon. It wraps around the gift card holder to keep it closed.

I needed to add a little sparkle inside as well, so there are Rhinestones and extra ribbon there, too:

This folds up and will hold your gift card right in the middle. You can even put a little note with it.  This was made from the Kraft card stock using the “Gift Card Envelope and Trims” thinlit.  It even has a few tag dies to go along with it!

A few extras on this one:
– I added a bit of texture to the outside of the enclosure by using the Honeycomb Embossing folder.  I inked up the raised side with Soft Suede, and just pressed the card stock right on it… it gives it a bit of color in that pattern.  I was going to use Crumb Cake, but it didn’t show up dark enough.
– I used sponge daubers to make dots over the BYOP.
– I used a blender pen to color the BYOP before I covered them with Crystal Effects.  Since I used Soft Suede to stamp it, it picked up the color from there and blended it right into the letters. It tends to have a reddish tint to it.

I hope everyone enjoys this, and if you have questions, just ask.
